Hello friends and happy Friday. It has been almost one week since the official first day of Fall and I’m already feeling festive. Give me all the apples, all the pumpkin, and all the football.
ICYMI
I recently started a series called Sunday Snacks where I share elevated bites best enjoyed from the couch. Growing up, football Sundays (and Saturdays) were a big deal in my house. Both of my parents are big college football and NFL fans. My brother played football through college, started working in the NFL when he was still a student, and now works in the scouting department for the Houston Texans. After being forced to attend countless of my brother’s games and endure MANY of my parents’ watch parties, the family love of football eventually rubbed off on me.
One of my biggest considerations when choosing where I went to college was that they had a fun football scene. I didn’t really care if the team was good or not, but I knew I wanted to go somewhere where students cared enough to actually go to the games. Looking back, I probably should’ve cared more about academics, but oh well. Anyways, I was torn between Penn State, my dad’s alma mater, and Clemson, where my cousins and family friends went. I ended up going with Clemson, whose football program was honestly nothing special at the time, but then went on to win 2 national championships (iconic). All this to say, I am essentially a ~girls who game day~ expert.
What I’m Wearing
Now game day fashion has definitely evolved since my time in college, but much of it has also stayed the same. Winning formula’s include: B.) Jean shorts, oversized top, and a baseball hat B.) neutral dress/set, boots, pop of color or C.) Jeans, winter jacket, fuzzy hat. These outfits and more are linked here <3.
What I’m Eating
A great game day snack is handheld and packs a lot of flavor in just a few bites. One of my favorite appetizers as a kid was loaded potato skins, and this recipe below is like a fancy grown up version.
