Hello friends, long time no chat.
ICYMI
I shared my favorite stale bread hack, offended some folks with my 6:30AM Diet Coke (again), made some pretty gorge sashimi bowls, normalized pasta for breakfast, announced my season finale, and prepared one of my favorite dinners of the summer. I also released all 4 parts of said season finale, but we’ll be covering the rest of those next week xx. OH, and I also announced my book deal to the public but you guys already knew about that.
Now it may feel like a lot is changing over here at Wishbone HQ, but fear not!! Change can sometimes be a good thing, but I can assure you that I’m not going anywhere (quite literally seeing as I resigned my lease for another year).
What I’m Loving: Fall Style Edition
As you may or may not know, this past spring I went through what I would describe as the most traumatic experience of my life: bed bugs. I’m not going to go into detail here as I am still processing the trauma; however, this did result in me having to throw out about two-thirds of my closet (sad), and I’ve since been slowly rebuilding my wardrobe (fun)! SOOOO, here are some pieces I’ve picked out this month for Fall.
Pixie Market Strapless Top: I wore this top out to dinner this week and am fully convinced this is the most flattering thing I’ve ever put on my body. It scratches the itch of wanting to participate in the vest trend with out making me look like a little boy magician. Also linking a similar top that’s in stock.
Lisa Yang Cashmere Cardigan: I LOVE knitwear, and I recently was introduced to the brand Lisa Yang after snagging one of her cashmere sweaters on sale this past spring. I never see people talk about this brand but I’m OBSESSED. I trust her cashmere quality with my life. I love the cut of this sweater as I’m very much in a cardigan era, and it’s almost identical to the famous Khaite cardigan but less than half the cost.
MOTHER Alpaca Sweater: Another brand that I blindly stand by is MOTHER. All of their stuff is really high quality. They also do a great job of incorporating personality into a lot of their pieces, like this rainbow-striped alpaca sweater. So cute so fun so chic!!!
Marissa Web Shirt Jacket: This is an ambitious outfit for me, but I have hope. And yes, I got the matching skirt as well. I’ve noticed that I feel most myself when wearing jeans, trousers, crew necks, and or collared tops. Skirts and dresses are always a little out of my comfort zone but I’m HOPING the structured collared shirt top balances it out. TBD.
Acne Studios Faux Leather Bomber: Ok, so if I’m being honest, I didn’t realize this was faux leather when I purchased it. I had been thinking about buying it, I later saw a TikTok reviewing the jacket, I went back to the website to see that there was only one left in my size, I blacked out and I ordered it. It’s really fucking cool tho so no regrets!! Linking a similar and more affordable option!
Rag & Bone Featherweight Jeans: Rag & Bone released this “featherweight” style last year I believe and I fully regretted not snagging a pair. They literally feel like pajamas. So when I saw that they’re new fall collection includes a variety of new colors in the same feather-weight fabric, I had to snag a pair! I went with the Ecru bc I’m very much a winter white girlie, but I also have my eye on the black pair.
Isabel Marant Locky Boot: Snagged these on sale after lusting after them for the past year. Silver is still having her moment, and I’m still leaning tf in.
Sam Edelman Loafers: I have commitment issues when it comes to choosing between a black or a brown flat shoe. My commitment issues stem from the fact that my daytime wardrobe leans more into navy undertones; however, might nighttime wardrobe is exclusively black. Plus, I’m more likely to be wearing a shoe that’s not a sneaker at night, but a flat loafer feels more daytime businesswoman special. Obviously, you can wear navy at night and black during the day, but I tend not to and I have 0 explanation as to why. LUCKILY, this tortoise loafer solves that issue bc it can go both ways!!!
Ugg Ultra Mini Rose Gray: Did I “need” another pair of Uggs? Absolutely not. But the PINK of it all. I couldn’t resist. *Update: these came in the mail today and I’m so obsessed they’re so cute I almost passed out.
