ICYMI

I cleared the air, accidentally went brunette, I made crab rangoons and Crucumbers for a love island marathon, I made blueberry waffles, I let a fruitful harvest decide my destiny, I tried pop up bagels for the first time, and I missed the Beyoncé concert to make my mom a meatloaf. I then fell terribly ill from the same summer cold that I’ve been fighting all month! Is this my body’s way of telling me to dial it back? Probably. Will I listen? No :)

Now let’s talk about the correlation between *tomato girl summer* and *delulu girl summer*. Nothing makes me more delusional than plump and perky peak-season produce. I’m out here rationalizing getting TWO cartons of $12 strawberries. FOR WHAT. I literally spent HUNDREDS of dollars at the Union Square farmers market last week (above). I also cranked out my fourth heirloom tomato galette of the season (below). It’s giving delulu!!!!!

What You Should be Cooking

New section alert!! I told you this week’s Group Chat was going to be XTRA FROTHY!! Inspired by what to make when you too fall victim to delulu tomato girl summer and buy way too many fruits and veggies than you know what to do with.

  • Tomato Toast(s): for when you find yourself with way too many heirloom tomatoes and 0 will to cook with them. She’s cute, she’s easy, and she’s delish.

  • Hot Honey Peach Margaritas: for when you have 1. under-ripe fruit 2. overripe fruit 3. too much fruit. No need to stick to just peaches, this recipe will work with just about any fruit you’ve got!

  • Pasta with Prosciutto and Peas: for when you’ve got a mountain of greens and fresh herbs in your crisper drawer to use up.

What I’m loving

  1. La Double J Pineapple Apron: my fave apron at the moment. High quality / durable material + a pattern that fits my summer aesthetic.

  2. Toom Garlic Dip: I buy a tub of this every week at Whole Foods it’s soooooo good. I use it on sandwiches and as a dip with chips and crudités. However, prepare for some pretty gnarly garlic breath.

  3. Laetitia Rouget ceramic dessert plates: I am fully obsessed with these silly little overpriced dessert plates. I already have a set of four but something is telling me I need to collect them all (delulu). Send help.

  4. Sol de Janeiro Body Oil: The fact that I’m not sponsored by Sol De Janeiro is criminal. I’m on my 6th tub of their Bum Bum cream and I recently picked up a bottle of their body oil. They claim these products “firm and tighten” the skin, but honestly, I don’t see a difference. I use the Bum Bum cream practically every day. The body oil I save for when I want an extra boost of hydration after shaving or if I was sitting in the sun all day. I also like to reapply the body oil on my arms and legs before leaving the house (rare) for glowy skin. Plus the scent is unreal.

  5. Kérastase Resistance Strengthening Hair Mask: After complaining about my damaged, dry, and over-processed hair on the internet, Kérastase graciously gifted me their entire Resistance line and I now refuse to use any other hair products. I take the shampoo, conditioner, hair mask, heat protectant, and oil serum literally everywhere I go. I refuse to wash my hair with anything else. It is the only hair system that leaves my dry crunchy hair feeling soft and silky.

  6. Shiseido Urban Environment Fresh-Moisture Sunscreen with Hyaluronic Acid: Shiseido sunscreen is the goat, we know this. But the HYDRATING sunscreen with hyaluronic acid is my new favorite. Super lightweight, hydrating, and has great SPF coverage.

  7. Polo Ralph Lauren Cropped cable-knit wool, silk, and cashmere-blend vest: Perfect transitional sweater as we make our way into ~late summer~.

  8. Adidas Samba: My 5th pair of sambas. Big fan.

  9. Reformation Linen Mini Dress: This dress is giving capsule wardrobe. It’s simple, chic, and really well-made. The ruching fabric in the front conceals my midsection while also snatching the waist. I hate when dresses hug your stomach and show the outline of your belly button.. like it makes me feel naked idk. Well, this dress does the opposite of that. Slay.
